Thereforeitissaid:

Whounderstandsflowseemsfoolish;

Whoprogresseswithflowseemstofail;

Whofollowsflowseemstowander.

Forthefinestharmonyappearsplain;

Thebrightesttruthappearscolored;

Therichestcharacterappearsincomplete;

Thebravestheartappearsmeek;

Thesimplestnatureappearsinconstant.

Thesquare,perfected,hasnocorner;

Music,perfected,hasnomelody;

Love,perfected,hasnoclimax;

Art,perfected,hasnomeaning.

Soflowcanbeneithersensednorknown:

Ittransmitssensationandtranscendsknowledge.
