78.Yielding
Nothingintheworldisassoftandyieldingaswater,
Yetnothingcanbetterovercomethehardandstrong,
Fortheycanneithercontrolnordestroyit.
Thesoftovercomesthehard,
Theyieldingovercomesthestrong;
Everypersonknowsthis,
Butfewpracticeit.
Whoattendstothepeoplewouldregulatethelandandgrain;
Whoattendstothestatewouldregulatethewholeworld;
Truthiseasilyobscuredbyrhetoric.
